Budget Payment Plans

The desire of the MAPA physicians is to consistently maintain the highest standard of pediatric care.  Obviously, payment for services rendered will allow us to meet this goal more effectively.  We understand that at times payment of unexpected medical costs may present a challenge.  In an effort to be equitable in our fiscal relationships, the MAPA Board of Directors has approved a specific plan for payment of balances as follows:

  • Account balances <$250 must be paid in full within 90 days
  • Account balances $250-$500 must be paid in full within 120 days
  • Account balances >$500 must be paid in full within 180 days
  • Initial budget payments must be no less than 50% of the total balance due
  • In the event that your child(ren) does not have insurance coverage, you will be expected to pursue insurance coverage for your child(ren).  Assistance programs such as North Carolina Medicaid or North Carolina Health Choice may be available to provide assistance with coverage for medical services.  MAPA personnel will gladly provide direction about application for these state programs.
  • It is noted that hardship situations (job loss, family tragedy, extended illness, etc.) occur on occassion.  In the event that you are experiencing such a hardship, please communicate with the MAPA Patient Account Representative.  The Account Representative will share with your physician information relative to your financial circumstances.  The physician may offer a "grace period" for a time to allow you to "recover" from the financial hardship.

MAPA has enjoyed a long and positive relationship with many of Western North Carolina's youngest citizens and their representatives.  We look forward to continuing these relationships.  Thank you for understanding that we can only continue serving Western North Carolinians when payment for these services is rendered.  If you have questions or concerns regarding your financial relationship with MAPA, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Accounts Representative at: (828)254-5616 ext. 1.
